Ofcom: Failing to communicate?
Yesterday I suggested that Ofcom were back-sliding on transparency — refusing to share with its stakeholder community what it told the Byron Review. And I mentioned that — if you want a laugh — look at how out-of-date Ofcom’s website is with respect to engagement with Parliament (it looks like the last update was in 2003!). Regardez:

Unsurprisingly, the results of this inactivity are reflected in Ofcom’s reputation. According to Ofcom’s own MP survey:

It’s probably time for Ofcom — acting at the Board level — to engage in a top-to-bottom review of its document sharing policies, its website, and its overall commitment to transparency. Remember: This is the same regulator that lately has been telling everyone it has a unique vision of the new media future for broadcasting - the public service publisher (PSP).
How about a new media future for regulation? The public service regulator?

I agree and made a similar point at the recent Annual report event. We (NUJ) are still waiting for a response to our submission regarding the terms of reference for the review of PSB (three months and counting). Lots of consultations, precious little evidence of taking any of it on board.
