Ofcom continues misleading use of ‘up to’ broadband speeds

Folks, time and time again, we’ve complained that Ofcom tend to use industry-inflated broadband speed figures in their reports and presentations to Parliament and the public. Either because the real numbers are too embarrassing to share or because Ofcom has not done the measurements, we are simply presented with false data.

Despite almost 6000 UK residents signing the Crystal Clear broadband petition against the misleading use of ‘up to’ internet speed claims, Ofcom employee Dougal Scott did just that in his recent Ofcom presentations on next generation broadband. See for yourself:
