OfcomWatch compares US / UK broadband adverts …
I’m in the USA on holiday and I thought it would be interesting to see if US broadband providers also advertise inflated download speed claims. So, I purchased the Sunday paper and scanned it for broadband adverts. But things did not go as planned …

ok - but what do you say about it? People DO use broadband, do they? Or they only use wireless? There isn’t a monopolist, is there? The distribution mechanism isn’t word of mouth - is it? Or…? (came across your page here: nellyo.wordpress.com)

Oh, I should have clarified - people do use broadband in the Atlanta area in the south of the US. They generally have a choice between (i) cable broadband, provided by Charter or Comcast or (ii) ADSL service provided by BellSouth. There are some random wi-fi / wireless options, but nothing too exotic. I was told by some friends after I posted my video that adverts for broadband services are mostly on television, not in the newspaper.
Thanks for stopping by OW…
