Communications regulation is sexy again!
Folks, the news is coming in fast and furious today:
* James Purnell MP is to take up the DCMS post. Jowell will retain a cabinet-level position overseeing the Olympics.
* DTI has morphed into something called The Department for Business, Entreprise and Regulatory Reform (DBERR) and will be headed by John Hutton MP.
* Gordon Brown has asked the Better Regulation Commission to report by the end of July on how its risk-based approach to regulation can be put into action.
* Tom Loosemore will leave the BBC to head Ofcom’s Public Service Publisher (PSP) project. This PSP thing is here to stay, folks!
Ofcom, a regulator of all the talents…
