I ♥ Shilpa; BBC licence fee; Oxford Media Convention
All the news about Ofcom these days seems to be about food adverts or racism, including these types of pieces about allegedly racist remarks and bullying in the Celebrity Big Brother house. (The CBB house-mates also smoke and drink and eat junk food, so it’s a nightmare for ‘quality media’ watchdogs) It’s a heated environment and one that shows that, while Ofcom’s Annual Plan is laudable, the workflow and attention of a regulator does not always conform to plan.
But the big story this week will undoubtedly be the announcement of the BBC licence fee settlement, due to be announced in Parliament tomorrow. The culture minister, Tessa Jowell, then will reportedly come to the Oxford Media Convention to further describe the details. We’ll be there…so stay tuned…

THEY BULLYING OF SHILPA IS DISGUSTING. THIS PROGRAM NEEDS TO BE TAKEN OFF ALL TOGETHER. ITS TOO NASTY TOO WATCH.

I feel the treatment of Shilpa in the Big Brother house by the three english gutter rats Jad, Dannielle and Jo is nothing short of disgraceful and it makes me disgusted to think they are of the same country as myself.
Their language towards her, in a petty argument about chicken stock cubes left me absolutely speachless and I’m sure all will agree that no human being deserves to be spoken to like that, either directly to her face of, which is more of the case it appears, behind her back.
Shilpa thankfully kept her dignity and did not lower herself to a slagging match with someone who is nothing more that a common, uneducated bully.
Unfortunately yet another instance where we have broadcast the worst of Britain across the globe.
Channel 4 should be ashamed and made to remove this kind of absolute rubbish from our screens.

I am very dissapointed with the channel 4 big brother show where shilpa has been victimised racial remarks and bullyied by jade ,danielle. Especially danielle said shilpa should go back to her fucking country. Action shold be taken by throwing out or punishing both of them.

I think its completely out of order the way that channel 4 are letting the bullying of Shilpa carry on! I found the show quite entertaining but have been completely put off by how the contestant is being treated! Its fair enough that channel 4 are lookin for the ratings but in this day and age can they not think of any thing else that will keep the viewers interested instead of the intimidation of some poor woman! They should be doing something about this! Its as if channel 4 are condoning racism and intimidation! Jade, Danielle and jo should be made leave the house immediately!

I had to write to complain about the bullying of Shilpa on BB. The way the three amigos have been allowed to constantly abuse her has been nothing short of disgraceful. It’s about time BB threw out the childish threesome. The only thing that Shilpa has been guilty of, is being unable to cook a chicken which is no wonder, considering she will have people to do those things for her back in India, where she is a far bigger star than any of the three stooges will ever be. Come on BB, get your finger out and do the decent thing.
