Ofcom barks but doesn’t bite over Bulldog complaints
AFX reports -
Ofcom today closed an investigation into Bulldog, the broadband internet service provider owned by telecoms group Cable & Wireless PLC.
Ofcom launched its probe at the end of August after receiving hundreds of complaints about over-billing and deficiencies in the ISP’s customer service practices. In a statement this morning Ofcom said it was ’satisfied’ that a number of undertakings given by Bulldog would both address customers’ grievances and ensure that similar problems would not occur in the future.
Bulldog has agreed to give all existing customers of its joint voice and internet service one free month’s free line rental. It has also pledged to provide Ofcom with monthly reports for the next six months on how the ISP is dealing with a range of customer service and billing issues.
