Ofcom Advisory Committees
Ofcom has five advisory committees covering England, Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland and the Elderly and Disabled. In the last case, the Committee has always has its own indepdendent chair but, in the case of the four other committees, so far meetings have been chaired by the relevant Ofcom national director. However, wisely the main Board had decided that all the national committees should have their own chair and that, since the committees have now been running since Spring 2004, these chairs should come from existing committee members. Today Ofcom has announced the four appointments. As the member for England on the Ofcom Consumer Panel, I attend the Ofcom Advisory Committee for England (ACOD) in an observer capacity, so I am particularly pleased to welcome Suzy Brain England as the new chair of ACOD.
