Ofcom’s Telecoms Adjudicator publishes LLU progress report
Whilst the world is busy studying Ofcom’s final PSB TV recommendations, the independent Office of the Telecoms Adjudicator (OTA) has published an update on progress towards unbundling the Local Loop, which indicates that things aren’t going quite as well as planned.
31,000 lines had been unbundled by 31 January 2005 – from around 12,000 in May 2004. But the OTA had targeted 50,000 lines by February 2005.
The report comments that LLU operators continue to experience operational problems and variable delivery performance that inhibits operators’ marketing plans.
